Big White Dragon Pearls is white tea, which in its characteristics and taste qualities is in no way inferior to the closest relatives – the Bai Mu Dan and Bai Hao Yin Zhen teas. This ball-shaped tea is very popular in the north of China – the tea pearls are create a beautiful presentation as they slowly open in the water. Dragons and pearls play an important role in the Chinese mythology, they symbolize the possession of secrets and precious knowledge.
For the production of Bai Cha Long Zhu, only the upper leaves and young tea buds are collected. Then they go through complex oxidation process without thermal treatment. White tea is valuable for its capability to retain maximum useful substances. The main difference between the Big White Dragon Pearl and its relatives is in the form of tea – delicate leaves, covered with silver downy fibers, are twisted into dense balls resembling precious pearls.
