A feature of the Hong Long Zhu variety is that leaves for production are harvested from wild tea trees. This is what makes it the most natural, as these trees are not treated with any fertilizers that can change the chemical composition of the leaves. The shape of the tea is not accidental: the pearl symbolizes the jewel of secret knowledge and a special position in society.
After a complex manufacturing process which consists of several drying stages, including drying on an open fire, the tea leaves are manually rolled into large balls, similar to pearls. Hence the name went, and still this shape allows you to preserve the taste and aroma of tea for a longer time. For the first time, the shape of the pearl was given to tea more than three hundred years ago: then it was done manually, and now machines are used at this stage.
