It is said that before being given the name Lu Luo, this tea was named "The Fragrant Killer", because its smell gave away greedy tea harvesters who tried to pick extra tea leaves for themselves. When they were exposed by the tea's fragrance they were subjected to cruel punishments; theft of precious tea leaves was considered a serious crime. Now, its name refers to its form; the small, twisted curls really look like green snails.
This is a classic green tea with a fresh taste, featuring traces of the sweetness of honey. In addition to its excellent taste qualities, Lu Luo is remarkable for its incredible aroma. This aroma is distinguished by its longevity; even after being repeatedly brewed, the leaves give off a pleasant scent. People say that the Green Snail acquires such a strong aroma because of the fogs and fruit trees that surround the tea plantations, but there is no scientific evidence for this.
