Yin Jun Mei is a new variety created in 2005 by the team of technologists of Zhen Shan Cha company. At the same time, the same team was working on the creation of Jin Jun Mei tea; the difference between the two varieties is in the production of raw materials: for Golden eyebrows, tiny tea buds are collected, while for Silver eyebrows - what has grown after the first harvest– in the classic version is the bud and the first leaf, covered with downy. For the production of 500 grams of tea, several tens of thousands of tea buds of the same size and first leaves are needed.
The homeland of Yin Jun Mei is Wuyi, a natural reserve zone at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. Tea leaves and buds are picked only from wild trees before the rainy season, then this raw material is completely hand-processed by Jin Jun Mei tea technology. Jin Jun Mei has an incomparable aroma that plays with wood, bread and honey notes.
